We process personal data for the following purposes, relying on the legal bases in Art. 6(1) GDPR:

To create and administer your account and provide the recipe-management service you requested — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and investigate technical faults, including through server logs — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and reliable service).
To comply with statutory retention obligations, where applicable — Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
To keep the shared food catalogue accurate and to moderate and respond to abuse concerning contributions to entries created by other users — for example a translation or unit conversion added to someone else's food — we record which account made each such contribution and when. We also keep a change-history record of nutrition edits to any food, including a food's own creator correcting their own entry, so that changes to health-relevant catalogue data stay traceable and accountable over time — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a lawful, accurate shared catalogue and in a verifiable change history for health-relevant data).
To operate the notice-and-action mechanism required by Article 16 of the Digital Services Act: to receive and assess reports about allegedly illegal or Terms-violating content, to contact the person who submitted a report, and to review content of yours that has been reported and act on it where warranted — Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with a legal obligation) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a lawful, safe, and policy-compliant service).
To provide the optional eating log (food diary), to show you the combined nutritional estimate for a day, and — to make repeat entries quicker — to show you a short list of your own most-frequently-logged items when you open the entry picker, where this feature is enabled for your account and you choose to use it — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). That list is worked out on the spot from your own recent entries, is shown only to you, and is not stored, shared, or used to take any decision about you. Your eating-log entries are private: they are never shown to other users, and they are never used for advertising, for automated decision-making, or for any profiling beyond compiling that in-product convenience list. Because a food diary can reveal information about your health or beliefs, we treat these entries as sensitive and store them only for as long as you keep them (see the section on storage duration).

Where we ever rely on your consent for a specific, separately described purpose, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you may withdraw that consent at any time with future effect.
